Building Project
We have undertaken the redevelopment and enlargement of our facilities for wider community and church use.
For 130 years, All Saints’ has been a significant venue for community activities.
- Each month, in addition to regular worshippers, 1200 people from the community use the church buildings.
- The church complex is used by a variety of interest groups, for live performances and for youth activities.
- We want to maintain and grow our service to the Taradale community by upgrading for the 21st century.
The new facilities were opened by the Mayor, Barbara Arnott on 29 August 2009. They include:
- The Octagon: a new Children and Family Centre
- Dedicated youth room and carpeted lounge
- Upgraded and enlarged hall
- Commercial kitchen and upgraded amenities block
- All areas are disability friendly
- Multi function staging, sound system and audio visual links
The total project cost is 1.7 million; of this we have raised $1,507,000 (from May 2006 ‘til September 2009) through numerous fundraising activities and the generosity of donations and bequests.
We need help from the wider community to help meet this deficit.
